Scottsdale Animal Hospital & Phoenix Mobile Veterinarians is a locally owned, husband-and-wife owned veterinary practice providing both full-service hospital care and in-home mobile veterinary services for dogs and cats.

Led by Dr. Mark Caldwell and Dr. Kristin Fornara, our practice was built around a simple belief: pets and their families deserve high-quality medicine, honest communication, and a veterinary experience that feels personal from start to finish.

After years of practicing in corporate veterinary settings, Dr. Caldwell and Dr. Fornara wanted to create a different kind of practice. They envisioned a veterinary team where medical recommendations could be transparent, patient care could be customized, and every family could feel informed about their pet’s health.

That vision began with Phoenix Mobile Veterinarians and has grown into a full-service Scottsdale animal hospital with mobile veterinary care under the same trusted team.

From Mobile Veterinary Care to a Full-Service Scottsdale Animal Hospital

Phoenix Mobile Veterinarians officially began in 2022 when Dr. Caldwell and Dr. Fornara saw their first in-home appointment in Mesa, Arizona. What started as a small two-doctor mobile veterinary practice quickly grew because local pet owners valued the convenience, compassion, and clear communication they received.

For the next two years, Dr. Caldwell and Dr. Fornara worked tirelessly to build the practice while continuing to provide attentive care in homes across the Phoenix area. As their patient needs grew, they recognized the importance of adding a hospital setting where they could provide expanded diagnostics, surgery, dental cleanings, oral surgery, X-rays, and more advanced treatment options.

In January 2023, they signed a lease on a vacant facility and began transforming it into a custom-designed animal hospital and surgery center. After a year of construction and planning, the hospital opened to complement the mobile veterinary services families already knew and trusted.

That vision began with Phoenix Mobile Veterinarians and has grown into a full-service Scottsdale animal hospital with mobile veterinary care under the same trusted team.

Dr. Caldwell and Dr. Fornara are also committed to helping animals beyond their local practice. Their volunteer work has included international animal care efforts in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. In September 2023, they donated time, expertise, and veterinary products, including a chemotherapy drug used to help treat Transmissible Venereal Tumors in dogs. In recognition of these efforts, both doctors were commissioned as Kentucky Colonels by Andy Beshear, Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Their volunteer work reflects the same values that guide the practice every day: compassion, service, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of animals.
